The Harrisburg Housing Authority has joined an exclusive group of housing authorities to achieve Move To Work (MTW) designation from The United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Only the 3rd Pennsylvania agency to achieve the status (joining Pittsburgh and Philadelphia), HHA achieved this as a result of more than a year-long application process which included several community feedback sessions in order to customize the program to local priorities. No housing authority is granted the MTW designation if it has not achieved a high-performing status. The Harrisburg Housing Authority will now be given expanded authority in the administration of its Housing Choice Voucher Program. With this additional authority, the agency aims to better serve the needs of HCV applicants, voucher holders, and landlords alike.
