Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria have caused devastation throughout Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and across the Caribbean.  In an effort to spread support for those affected by these storms HHA encourages its residents, staff and partners to please take the time to learn more about the response efforts provided by the agencies listed below.

One America Appeal for Hurricane Relief
The One America Appeal is a joint appeal that was originally launched by all five living former American Presidents to encourage their fellow citizens to support recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey — which inundated the Texas Gulf Coast with unprecedented flooding. This special appeal has been expanded to include areas most affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Direct  Relief
Direct Relief ranks No. 1 on Charity Navigator’s 2017 list of top-rated charities, measured by financial performance, accountability, and transparency.  Direct Relief has focused efforts that allow individual donation to those affected by Hurricane Irma, Harvey and Maria.

Americares has professional relief workers ready to respond to disasters at a moment’s notice and stocks emergency medicine and supplies in its warehouses in the U.S., Europe and India that can be delivered quickly in times of crisis. The organization responds to an average of 30 natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide each year, establishes long-term recovery projects and brings disaster preparedness programs to vulnerable communities. Americares relief workers continue to assist the Hurricane Maria and Irma relief efforts in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and South Florida, as well as provide assistance to communities in southeast Texas recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
